The hotel is a very modern construction, which, however, gives to the visitor the impression of a traditional mountainous village, with stone buildings wooden ceilings and roofs covered with red tiles.
The complex of the buildings is extended in a space of about 4 acres, within a mild mountain environment, and with an excellent view of the mountains across and the town of Kalavryta below it.
All the buildings are made of stone, cut and carved by specialist craftsmen, following the long tradition of the famous old stone carvers of the Peloponnese and Epirus.

Three groups of buildings form the complex.
The first group includes two central buildings, one for the Reception, the small, warm and very welcome Lounge with the small Bar, near the fireplace.
The ground floor of the building opposite the reception is kept for the Restaurant, with wonderful view, excellent service and gorgeous dishes, whereas at the first floor you will relax at the big, well-lit Bar, with its comfortable armchairs, the fireplace and the breathtaking view.
The 20 rooms of the hotel are divided in 7 buildings; 7 of the rooms are apartments (maisonettes), suitable to host a whole family.
The third group of buildings is made up of two buildings, each for the 2 luxurious suites.

First of all, you should stroll around the town of Kalavryta; some 500 meters far from the center, on your way to the Ski Center (and to our hotel), you will see the monument in honor of the 1400 male people of the town executed on the 13th of December 1943, during the German domination of Greece. Within the town you may visit the Museum of the “Holocaust of Kalavryta”, dedicated to the same event.

Don’t miss to visit the Palaiologos Mansion, a good sample of the architecture of 15th century, and the Municipal Gallery. The traditional Railway Station is just at the center of the town and it is worth a glance and several photos. And, of course, don’t miss to walk in the streets of the town and buy traditional products (Kalavryta is famous for cheese, dairy products and pasta) in the local stores.

You have various alternatives for short excursions in the area; it depends on your mood and special interests you may have.

The commonest choice of visitors is, of course the Ski Center (11 kilometers far from the hotel to the East). The center is very well equipped, offering facilities both for skiers and for…watchers. Both at the Ski Center and in the village you may rent the necessary equipment for winter sports.

The Cave of the Lakes (“Spileo Limnon”), close to the village of Kastria, some15 kilometers at the South, will impress you with its beauty and long history, but above all with the unique 13 lakes within it, extended on three levels (only two of them open to public). The tour of the cave is guided.

It is worth visiting the historic Holy Monastery of Aghia Lavra (it is here that was declared the Greek Revolution of 1821 against Ottomans). The Monastery is found some 4, 5 kilometers far from Kalavryta, situated in a scenic environment full of trees. Once there, you may also visit the Monument in honor of the heroes of 1821, situated on a nearby hill. 

10 kilometers before arriving at Kalavryta, you will see the Monastery of Mega Spileon (“the big cave” in Greek), built on the impressive rocks of the mountain.

If you like Monasteries and churches, there are a lot in the area to visit, as the Holy Monastery of Panaghia Makelaria, dedicated to Virgin Mary and the church of Panaghia Plataniotissa, also dedicated to Virgin Mary, built within the hollow of a plane tree.

Close enough to the hotel you will find the ruins of the Castle,“Kastro tis Orias” (“castle of the beautiful woman”), as the locals call it, whereas at the village of Loussoi, you may visit the “Tower of Petmezades”, in fact the house of this famous local family.

At Loussoi you may also see the archaeological sites of Ano Loussoi and close to the village of Kleitoria the ruins of the ancient city of Kleitor.

The fans of nature should not miss to visit the springs of river Aroanios, near the village of Planitero. Don’t miss to go to the “Waters of Styx”, a sacred place for ancient Greeks; according to Homer, it is here that the mother of Achilles bathed the newborn child in order to make him immortal.

You may also drive to the dam of river Ladonas, but above all you have to make the journey from Kalavryta to Diakopto (or inverse) by the unique rack rail, within a fascinating environment every season of the year.

As you notice, the place is not suitable only for winter; even in summer there are things to do and places to see.

Finally, if you like mountain sports you may find several places to hike or walk; a part of the E4 path is found in the area. If you like motorcycling and off-road driving, you will find a lot of mountain roads, easier or more difficult ones, suitable for off-road motorcycles and cars.

The rooms and apartments are very spacious (40 to 45 square meters each), whereas the two suites, 85 square meters each, impress with their plain luxury.
Stone, visible in the interior of the rooms, is nicely matched with the warm orange colors of the curtains and the sofa and goes very well together with the wood of the ceiling, the thick carpets on the floor and the metal of the beds.

Care for the guest and high esthetics is evident in every touch; all details contribute to offer comfortable, hospitable, high quality and luxurious staying.

All rooms are equipped with Satellite and Nova TV, access to Internet and external telephone line, self-regulated heat and air condition, mini-bar, spacious balconies and large windows with excellent view and bright light. You will certainly enjoy the nice fireplace, always supplied with sufficient wood, which you are fully encouraged to use, and you will relax in the white, fluffy bathrobes and slippers.

The apartments (maisonettes) are an excellent choice for families or companies of few people. Children (of any age!) will certainly adore the loft of the apartments, warm and nice, with a window that gives you the sense of being in heaven when you look through it.

The suites are big, with spacious and luxurious sitting room, which may host two more people. Apart from the standard facilities available in all rooms, the suites are also equipped with breakfast set, for those who prefer to take the first coffee of the day in private, in front of the fireplace.

Our restaurant not only is it spacious, comfortable and with abundant light. Cooking is also excellent, with gorgeous dishes, inspired from the local traditional kitchen, with interesting and carefully selected wine list and a rich buffet for breakfast. One of the pros of our restaurant is the exceptional, friendly service of the very attentively chosen staff, from the inventive chef to the waiters.

As you will notice, all our staff is kind, friendly and offer top quality service.

The bar adds up a lot to our hotel, with the friendly, comfortable and cozy atmosphere, with the excellent quality of drinks and service and with the wonderful view. The large bar, the fireplace, the comfortable armchairs, the tables close to the window where you may enjoy a cold plate or a snack, make this place ideal for the cold evenings of winter, when you wish only to stay in and relax. And in summer, you will have your drink at the spacious balcony, enjoying the fascinating view and the cool atmosphere of the evening.

The small bar at the lounge near the reception is also nice. You will take your coffee by the window or at the bar, looking at Chelmos and relaxing in the soft light of the chandeliers that look like giving light from candles.

Should you cancel this reservation, please note the following cancellation terms:

We charge 50% of the stay of 2 weeks prior to the arrival on period between 07/05 - 31/07 and 21/08 - 30/09 and 3 weeks on period between 01/10 - 06/05 and 01-20/08.
In case of non-show or of departure prior to the scheduled one we charge the whole ammount of stay.
