This Privacy Policy refers mainly to the collection and use of information. We encourage you to take time to read this Privacy Policy as well as the Conditions of Use.

Personally identifiable information

By completing and submitting a reservation or request, you voluntarily share your personal details (such as name, e-mail address etc), which we collect so that we may provide the services offered on our site.

Broadly speaking we use your personal information to complete reservations or contact you in response to your request.

When a user completes an on-line reservation

At this point, the guest has provided personal information (including credit card details). This information is then securely (as we explain below) obtained by the hotelier within a maximum of 72 hours.

In most cases, no deposit shall be charged, upon confirmation of a reservation.

Should the guest arrive and depart as arranged, the full accommodation charge shall be processed by the hotel upon the guests’ departure.
Should the guest cancel within the cancellation fee period, the appropriate charge will be processed by the hotel.

Some hotels however, require a deposit / pre-paid amount to confirm a reservation. In this case, only the balance shall be charged by the hotel, upon the guests’ departure. Again, the cancellation policy shall be clearly explained.

Note: cancellation terms and policies are hotel specific and will be clearly explained in the reservation process.

Security

MyVacations.gr takes every precaution to protect our guests’ information both online and off-line.

When entering personal and sensitive information on our forms (such as credit card details), that information is encrypted by SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology (128 bit).

While proceeding with an on-line reservation, you will note you are on a secure page – the lock icon on the bottom of a Web browser becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just surfing.

While we use SSL encryption to protect our guests’ sensitive information online, we also make every effort to protect user information off-line.

All users’ information is restricted to our offices and only employees who need to perform an action in service to our guests are granted access to personally identifiable information.

In addition, all employees are kept updated with regards to security and privacy practices.

Finally, the servers which store personally identifiable information are in a locked and secure environment.

MyVacations.gr also has a Thawte certificate. Thawte is recognised as a world class company in the protection of information and transactions.

Users whom proceed to make a confirmed reservation will receive a personalized voucher number and pin. These details may then be used by the guest to access the details to the reservation or even cancel the said reservation.

We encourage our guests not to disclose these details to third parties.

Browser Information Collected

As most Web site servers we use log files. This includes the internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP) etc. We analyze these to improve our users’ experience of MyVacations.gr.

It is important to note that our website logs are not personally identifiable.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer and is tied to information about the user. Cookies may be used throughout our website for technical reasons or to enhance our users’ experience.

Communication

We communicate with users/ guests, with regards to their reservation or request via e-mail or telephone, as needed.

We send new and established users information, services, special deals and newsletters.

Notification of changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy at some time in the future, we will post the changes here. Naturally, the use of information gathered while the current policy is in effect will always be consistent with the current policy, even if we change that policy later.
